'A good photograph is one that communicates a fact, touches the heart, leaves the viewer a changed person for having seen it. It is, in a word effective' Irving Penn
Thank you for taking the time to look through our Pearls of Wisdom 2 - it's a bit of a celebrity issue, so please forgive the name dropping. We've also been busy travelling around the country in this fabulous weather - partly for work, partly for pleasure, showing an Aussie cousin around. Fortunately the cousin has gone home(?!!), and we now have a stunning selection of photos taken around Britain on our little road trip. It was even sunny in Scotland, so we managed to get a few new shots for the Loch Fyne Restaurants collection, and catch up with some old friends.
I hope you find these little updates on some of our recent projects interesting, and inspire you to use more photography in your business!
If you would like to see more of our work, please take a look at our website www.mediawisdom.co.uk or give Abi a call on 020 8979 3328 for a chat about your photographic requirements.
JuJu London

Huge CONGRATULATIONS to JUJU, Winner of Best New Bar 2009 - another Award Winning client for Media Wisdom Photography
Joanna Davies of Drink Marketing is one of those special people who trusted us, over seven years ago, when we first started Media Wisdom Photography, and has been coming back to us ever since. Earlier this year, Jo and her team called us in to photograph JUJU in the King's Road, a beautifully designed club, and the latest , award winning venture for Lee Chapman and Lesley Ash. See how seamlessly I just slipped those names in - I did warn you!?
Night clubs though - always a challenge! All those mirrors, dark walls and seating, low ambient lighting and hardly any plug sockets! Thank goodness for the new camera (Cannon 5D MKII). It was it's first time out, fresh out of the box, and we wouldn't have had the great results we did, both for the interiors and the launch party in the evening, without it. Obviously combined with Giles' photographic talents - the camera does not maketh the photo!
We were thrilled to see that one of the photographs from the photo shoot made the front cover on Night Magazine's February issue. Complemented with a fabulous feature inside with our photos all over it. It's always great to see clients using our photographs to promote themselves so well, and shine out above their competitors - even resulting in an award.
We have since gone on to work with Drink Marketing and Lee Chapman again as they asked us to update the photographs for SOUK in Clapham High Street.

Warren House Kingston Hill

We've had the pleasure of photographing interiors, people, snowy exteriors and events at Warren House for the past seven years - another one of our lovely first clients, and another award winner - Winner Best Business for Customer Service. They are also winners at looking after their Photographer too.
Last month FW De Klerk was a guest speaker at a Warren House conference and Giles was asked to photograph the event. Obviously we managed to seamlessly re-jiggle a few things to make sure Giles would be there, camera in hand. As you can imagine everyone wanted the opportunity to be photographed with Mr De Klerk. Giles' biggest regret was he didn't get a shot with him. He's still going on about it! But he did manage to charm Mr De Klerk enough, that he put aside some of his time for a few individual, no security, no fuss shots.

Cisco Cribs

Oh I know - Crib?? it's one of those young people words, but a call to do a shoot for Cisco Systems must be every boys dream - we are talking gadgets and buttons like you've never seen before!! Giles couldn't wait to get involved. Cisco have been travelling around the World creating 'digital cribs' focusing on celebrities and entrepreneurs who have incorporated and embraced technology. Their latest digital crib featured the entrepreneur Martha Lane Fox, and as it was based in London, Media Wisdom Photography were called to produce stills images to complement and enhance the video footage. Sensitive to the needs of the video crew and Ms Lane Fox, Giles worked discreetly and quickly to ensure the photographic brief was met and both the Cisco client and Martha were kept happy. We then had to edit and fully prep the images that night, to ensure they were
with the client first thing in the morning, before they flew back to the States - mission accomplished.

Corporate Portraits

Corporate portraits are keeping us busy and it gives us the chance to get to know our clients even better. For most of us having our photo taken is so nerve racking, but we hope we make it a pleasant experience. It's important to us to understand the needs of our clients, and give them more than just a portrait shot. For our good friend Keith Hern, a local Photographer, we framed the shot to include the lights - adds a bit more interest and gives a bit of a lifestyle twist to the shot we thought. Not that we need to make Keith look more interesting you understand!!? And in glorious colour is Susan Tomlinson from Real Coaching Solutions. Susan came to us with a great photo story idea which resulted in a fabulous photo session and selection of photos.
Anyway, everyone needs a great shot of themselves for whatever reason, so don't leave it until the last minute, give yourself time so you get the most out of the session - you will actually enjoy it, I promise.
